Goff throws his receivers open quite a bit actually. He’s throwing to a spot where he’ll know the receivers will be - not where they are. Especially Amon Ra; those two had alot of trust

There's two different things that people conflate: throwing guys open and throwing with anticipation for when the route is breaking.

Throwing guys open is more when someone is covered and it is the specific ball placement, especially on deep balls, that leads a receiver open. Goff is not good at that. Data all leans negative for him relative to the rest of the league there.

The one you seem to be mentioning is more hitting the routes with timing. This is something Goff is excellent at, and Hooker's pretty good there too.

Different is slight, but distinguishable. Stafford was really good at throwing guys open, i.e., he would put the fade on the back shoulder and thus create an opening when the player was largely covered. Goff works really well with St. Brown because he plays in good rhythm and hits the throws as St. Brown is breaking out of his route with separation.
